PRINCE2® Practitioner
Course and Learning Objectives:
PRINCE2 is a de facto standard developed and used extensively by the UK government and is widely recognized and used in the private sector all over the globe. It embodies established and proven best practice in project management.
PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments), is a widely used project management method that navigates you through all the essentials for running a successful project.
The PRINCE2 Practitioner course will provide delegates with a detailed knowledge of the PRINCE2 methodology including the seven processes, seven themes and seven principles central to running a project using the PRINCE2. The successful completion of the Foundation & Practitioners exams will give the delegate a recognized Practitioner qualification.
PRINCE's key strength is it's constant reference to the business case at the start and close of every stage, ensuring project validity and that the projects appetite for benefit vs risks are delivered to the requirement of the business case. PRINCE2 is also strong in governance and stakeholder management.
Most importantly of all PRINCE2 can be tailored to suit the need of the project, it can be scaled up or scaled down to suit the size, complexity and risk involved in successfully delivering a project that is fit for purpose.
The purpose of the Practitioner qualification is to confirm whether the candidate has achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor PRINCE2 in a scenario situation. A successful Practitioner candidate should, with suitable direction, be able to start applying the method to a real project but may not be sufficiently skilled to do this appropriately for all situations.
By passing the Practitioner exam, candidates should understand the structure and key terminology of the method. Specifically, the candidate should understand:
-
The characteristics and context of a project and the benefits of adopting PRINCE2
-
The purpose of the PRINCE2 roles, management products and themes
-
The PRINCE2 principles
-
The purpose, objectives and context of the PRINCE2 processes.
